Everyone wants gorgeous nails like the ones posted on IG and TikTok. So this is my story and I hope it helps someone.
Between the kids, work etc to be honest, I didn't have time to make an appointment at the salon every few weeks and the price of a mani just seemed to be increasing. But mainly, I noticed that all the filing at the salon was making my nails thin and unhealthy and I really disliked the way they looked when I had the previous application removed. So I stopped and suffered the long wait for my nails to heal. That was the worst bit really.
To be honest, I was not sure what to do next. Just because I stopped having my nails done at a salon, it did not mean I didn't care. I loved having nice nails; it just made me feel better about myself. However, I'd tried at-home dip systems and couldn't get them to work for me and you have to dip so many times; I just couldn't get an even finish and I had become allergic from breathing all the powder in. Well I thought it was powder, but my friend said it was ground plastic, so that really put me off. Anyway, basically it looked like bare nails were my future but it didn't make me at all happy. OK, I missed nail polish but that just didn't last and even that I found I couldn't apply evenly and it constantly smudged.
One of my friends is a local realtor and I remembered that she has the best nailfie game in town. She has a bunch of followers on social media with her cool new nail designs. So, I asked her where she was getting these great nails from; though I thought she would just say 'a salon'.

To my surprise, it was easier than painting my nails and went on just as fast. The best part? No drying time and no tacky paint to get messed up.
